Walking and driving times are OpenStreetMap routes from each hotel's address to the terminal building, without traffic. Past a 25-minute walk we give the drive instead. Shuttle, package and parking details are from each hotel's own website, read on November 1, 2026. Room rates change daily, so we don't print them: "Check prices" opens the hotel on Booking.com, which pays us a commission if you book. It doesn't change the order of this list.

The Queen Mary is the closest hotel to the Long Beach Cruise Terminal, a 5-minute walk on our route. The Maya and Residence Inn Long Beach Downtown are 17 and 20 minutes on foot. Everything else is a ride.

The table above has 20 hotels:

  • 3 within a walk of the terminal
  • 8 downtown, an 8 to 10-minute drive away
  • 2 further out that include a ride to the terminal: The Cove Hotel and Hotel Current
  • 7 near Long Beach Airport

What we say about each hotel comes from its own website or its brand's page, as it read on 1 November 2026. The times are ours, measured on OpenStreetMap from each hotel's address to the terminal building, without traffic. We print no room rates, so a package's price is on the hotel's site. Hyatt's site wouldn't load, so Hyatt Regency Long Beach and Hyatt Centric The Pike are missing.

Check your terminal before you book. A cruise sold as Los Angeles can leave from Long Beach or San Pedro, which are separate ports. Carnival's page says of cruising from Los Angeles, "we're talking about cruises from Long Beach". Today 309 of the 696 sailings here show this terminal. Sailing from San Pedro? See hotels near the San Pedro cruise port. The terminal guide explains the difference.

Which hotel is closest to the Long Beach cruise terminal?

The Queen Mary, at 1126 Queens Highway. The terminal is the dome at 231 Windsor Way, and the ship's own page says it is "docked right next to" it. The Long Beach terminal page lists the sailings.

Its Stay & Cruise package includes a night in a historic stateroom, complimentary luggage service and a $25 food and beverage credit. Parking isn't on its list. Add two costs, as of 1 November 2026: overnight parking at $39 a night, and a Historic Preservation & Improvement Fee of $23 per room, per night.

The Maya, at 700 Queensway Drive, and Residence Inn Long Beach Downtown, at 600 Queensway Drive, are 0.9 and 1.0 miles on foot, and 7 minutes by car. These are OpenStreetMap routes, and nobody on this site has walked them. With bags, The Maya's shuttle is the simpler choice.

Which hotels offer park and cruise in Long Beach?

Four hotels sell a stay with parking while you sail. These were the terms on 1 November 2026:

HotelPackageParkingRide to the terminal
The MayaBon Voyage Park & CruiseOne vehicle, up to 7 nightsShuttle to and from
The Cove HotelLong Beach Cruise PackageUp to 7 nightsTransportation to and from
Hotel CurrentSnooze & CruiseUp to 7 daysShuttle to the cruise port
Marriott Long Beach DowntownSip, Sail & CruiseCovered garage, up to 7 nightsUber credit, to and from

A few details decide between them:

  • The Maya asks you to arrive at least one day before your cruise. Shuttle times vary, and you schedule yours with the front desk when you arrive.
  • Hotel Current doesn't say whether the shuttle brings you back, so ask. Its shuttle goes to the Long Beach terminal only.
  • Marriott Long Beach Downtown lists this offer for stays to 17 December 2026, with promotional code QZR. It adds a harbor view upgrade and two welcome drinks, and you must show your cruise itinerary at check-in.

None of these covers more than about a week, so ask about extra nights on a longer cruise.

Two other hotels may hold a car without a package:

  • The Queen Mary says it offers long-term cruise parking, reserved online. Its cruise page says reservations were available January to June 2026, and its FAQ says multi-day parking runs December to June. Check before you plan on it. Both its offers and cruise pages name the Carnival garage next to the terminal as the fallback.
  • Hotel Mai says it may be able to keep your car if you stay before or after your cruise, based on availability. Email the hotel.

For comparison, the city's visitor bureau listed the terminal garage at $23 a day on 1 November 2026, which is $161 for 7 nights by our arithmetic, with a 7'0" height limit. Packages include the room, so compare the full price for your dates. The parking guide has the detail.

Which Long Beach hotels have a cruise shuttle?

Three: The Maya, The Cove Hotel and Hotel Current.

The Maya is the only one that doesn't tie the ride to a cruise package. Its destination fee, $30 plus tax a night on 1 November 2026 and added to each stay, includes complimentary shuttle service to the Long Beach Cruise Terminal. You pay it either way, so count the shuttle when you compare hotels.

The Cove's FAQ says "We do not have a shuttle", and that it provides the ride when you book the cruise package. Hotel Current's ride comes with Snooze & Cruise.

From the other downtown hotels, plan a taxi or rideshare. Hotel Mai says Ubers, Lyfts and taxis are readily available downtown. Long Beach Transit's Passport, which it calls its free downtown bus, has a Queen Mary / Cruise Terminal stop, number 4099, on the timetable effective 23 August 2026.

Can you walk to the Long Beach cruise port from downtown hotels?

Not with luggage. The terminal is across the harbor from downtown, so the 8 downtown hotels here are 29 to 38 minutes on foot on our routes, and 8 to 10 minutes by car. That's why the table gives them as a drive.

Does the Vincent Thomas Bridge closure affect Long Beach hotels?

Not on the way to this terminal. Caltrans closes the bridge, State Route 47, from 12:01 am on Saturday 7 November 2026, for 16 months, and targets reopening in early March 2028. We measured all 20 hotels with and without it, and none of their routes to the Long Beach terminal crosses it.

It matters in two cases:

  • Staying in Long Beach and sailing from San Pedro. From Marriott Long Beach Downtown to the World Cruise Center we measured 14 minutes with the bridge and 23 without, no traffic. The hotel's page says about 15 to 25 minutes, so treat the low end as gone.
  • Traffic on I-710. Caltrans names I-710 as a detour route, and it is the freeway into this terminal on our routes from both airports. Allow extra time from 7 November.

Which hotels near Long Beach Airport are good before a cruise?

The seven here are 16 to 20 minutes from the terminal by car and 3 to 5 minutes from the airport, without traffic. Long Beach Airport itself is 11.5 miles and 18 minutes from the terminal on our route, against 22.8 miles and 30 minutes from LAX.

None lists a cruise shuttle, so plan a taxi or rideshare for the morning. Their free airport shuttles, as published on 1 November 2026:

  • 5am to 10pm. Hampton Inn Long Beach Airport, Homewood Suites Long Beach Airport
  • 6am to 10pm. Holiday Inn Long Beach Airport, Staybridge Suites Long Beach Airport
  • On request or scheduled. Long Beach Marriott, Courtyard Long Beach Airport
  • No shuttle. Residence Inn Long Beach

Landing late at LAX? The San Pedro guide lists LAX hotels, though its times are to San Pedro. The airport guide compares the transfers.

Which Long Beach hotels have free or cheap parking?

Long Beach Marriott has free on-site parking, and Vagabond Inn Long Beach is free Sunday to Thursday and $20 a night Friday and Saturday. Other published rates on 1 November 2026:

  • $15: The Cove Hotel, Hotel Current, Holiday Inn Long Beach Airport, Staybridge Suites, Residence Inn Long Beach
  • $20: Hotel Mai, Courtyard Long Beach Airport, Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites
  • $25: Best Western Plus Hotel at the Convention Center
  • $39 to $50: The Queen Mary $39, The Maya $45, Residence Inn Downtown $46, Marriott Downtown $47, The Westin $49, Courtyard Downtown $50
  • $55: Hilton Long Beach, $60 valet

Travelodge says only that fees may apply. These rates are for your stay, and some rise for events. Hilton Long Beach lists $75 to $100, Residence Inn Downtown $60 to $100, and Hotel Mai warns its rate may increase.

Courtyard Long Beach Airport also lists long-term parking from $23 a night for non-guests, with a shuttle to the airport. It doesn't mention cruises.

Can a Long Beach hotel hold your bags after a cruise?

Often, yes, and you may need it, because check-in is 3pm or 4pm at the hotels here that publish it. The Maya has complimentary luggage storage for early arrivals and late departures, Hotel Mai stores luggage before check-in or after your stay, and The Cove will hold bags if your room isn't ready. Check-out is 11am at The Queen Mary, The Maya, The Cove and Marriott Downtown.
